We’ve all been there…tired, no energy, no motivation, too many other things going on in life. So we skip the workout, open the pantry, pull out the alcohol, and veg.
All too often we find ways to cheat ourselves out from being our absolute best. And I get it. There are certainly times for the above behavior, but it shouldn’t be part of our weekly or even monthly routine. Every time we do this, we make a withdrawal from our fitness account and get further away from the goal. But just like with your finances, it’s not the one transaction that hurts, it’s the 5, 10 and 20 transactions that add up, then after a couple of months go by, you’re carrying 10 extra pounds around.
See, every time you leave weight off the bar, skip reps, gorge yourself after 9pm with bad food, you cheat yourself.
Let that sink in.
You cheat yourself.
No one else, not your friend, nor your coach, nor your spouse. Just you!
And it is so much harder to correct those behaviors in the long term. It takes twice as much work, 3 times as much discipline, and who knows how much more stress.
So be your best self today. Don’t cheat yourself whether it’s in the workout or in the kitchen. Hard work today, will pay off and get you to where you want to go in the future!
