One of the greatest challenges we face in CrossFit (and life) comes from an unsuspecting source and to find this source, all you must do is look in the mirror. Its true. The gray matter between your ears is your greatest strength but also your greatest weakness.
But the wonderful thing is you can absolutely control your mind. only you can determine what you think about, what you focus on, and what you dream about. I can’t think for you, your coach can’t think for you, only you can do this.
So think about positive and uplifting things. Tell yourself (literally and out loud) things like “I am strong, I am confident, I am healthy, I am beautiful, I am smart.”
No more with the negativity! That’s not who you are.
And next time you’re in the middle of a hard day at work, or a brutal workout, instead of thinking about giving up, tell yourself “I can do this, just one more rep, I will finish!” Attitude is everything. If you don’t believe it just try having a great day with a bad attitude. So choose to adopt a new outlook on life, be grateful for what you have and believe in yourself! It’s worth the effort!
